Street Teams

Hi all, I thought I would write today about Street Teams !
Well I already hear you asking what on earth is a Street Team ......well here goes.
A Street Team is a dedicated team of your fans who are headed by one very forward thinking individual. That may be you, a manager or even someone that you know that is used to marketing things.
Now what you have to understand here is that they are an unpaid army of workers that will promote you at every opportunity they get. Be it on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter or just good old face to face. These are the fans that come see you play rain or shine, they just want to be part of the whole bands life without being in the band.
And here is what you need them to do and why ! Whatever you buy in life you are more likely to buy it if you are personally recommended to do so. Like a new restaurant that opens, if you received a flyer to go, would you? But if a friend says "wow that food was amazing you should try it", then you probably would at some point. So they need to tell their friends how great you are rather than you telling them. Here are just a few things they can do to free up your time.
Facebook - Post status updates about attending gigs.
Write posts or notes to say what a great time they had at your last gig.
Post links to your website, Myspace, Twitter or other social media sites you have.
Suggest their friends to your fan page.
Suggest their friends to your fan page.
Comment on your posts with positive comments.
Upload pictures they have taken at gigs.
Chat about you.
Myspace - Write blogs to say what a great time they had at your last gig.
Comment on your blogs and leave you kudos.
Visit your site everyday to help increase your profile views.
Listen to your tracks to help get track plays up.
Twitter - Retweet your posts.
Tweet about you including web links to what ever site you are pushing the hardest.
Suggest to their followers to follow you.
Face to Face - You need to give your Street Team the tools to do the job for you, you may want to arm them with!
Flyers of up and coming gig dates.
Business cards to help get bookings and drive website traffic.
Speak about you positively all the time.
Wear your promotional T-Shirts when they are out.
So go on ask me......why will they do all this for nothing, well frankly they shouldn't and I would suggest to you this. Anything you want them to give away or wear you pay for, if you have a ticket only gig drop them a free ticket every now and again. Leak press releases to them first so they feel important and that you think of them first.
OK so here is the big important part.......DO IT, go on CRACK ON!
You need to lead the Street Team and they will grow your fan base and exposure for you.

Getting ahead in the music business
Hi, we thought we would start our blog and give you some daily info about how simple things can take you, as a band or artist to the next level.....FAST!So you want more fans, more traffic and more song plays, well how do you get it?
Firstly, you need to target the people you want to listen to your music!
Why? Well they are the ones who follow you, turn up at your gigs and buy your tracks.
Secondly, you need to get people moving round among all your social sites, traffic builds traffic and speed as it moves round the social networking sites.
Now, if you have a Facebook Fan Page with some good content....and I mean good content like notes, pictures, videos and lots of posts. Then push the fact through that fan-base that you have tracks to listen to on your Myspace. You may even put the lyrics to your songs up as notes or blogs on any of your sites with a link to your other sites.
Always post fresh news so the fans get it first, you might want to tell them you are of to the recording studio, the designers or a gig.....but keep those fans posted at every turn of your working day. Ok well go on then get on with it, its up to you now, not us, take some action.
