These days social media and radio needs to be a massive part of the marketing strategy for any band spreading your songs far and wide.
Radio is a great opportunity to get new listeners in new areas, I know its not easy to get on to radio stations to get interviews or airplay......but it isn't impossible. I travelled the country side this year visiting radio presenters and DJ's on both community and commercial stations and they all say the same thing "we need CD's from new bands. Their challenge is always getting new listeners and that's where you come in :-)
I was just another guy dropping a disc off ! or was I ?
I had taken the time to get myself to their door step no matter where they were, not posted it for them to chuck in the bin. If they were going to throw this away they would have to look me in the eye. Remember that airplay can earn you money from royalties if you are registered for PPL and the tracking codes are in your discs. (need more help on this call me)
Take Morning Lane for example, they won July track of the month here on WOHOMUSIC ! I rang all my contacts in radio and said this band is going to be massive and you need to give them airtime. Within days they were on radio station all over the UK, with interviews and guest appearances in shopping centres.
Now does that sound like fun ?
Your fan base is your power ! tell the radio stations you will promote the fact that you will be on their show all over your social media and mailing list.

Zeta FM Home Grown Show Winners Party
The final of the Zeta Home Grown Show will see Frank Tanks, Alex Body and The Avocets battle the night away.
